Cistera Networks to Integrate TCS’ Security Blanket® in the Cistera Convergence Server Solution
HERNDON, Va. – July 27, 2010 – Trusted Computer Solutions (TCS), a leading developer of cross domain, operating system and network security solutions, today announced a partnership with Cistera Networks® (OTCBB: CNWT), a provider of enterprise application platforms and engines for unified communications. Cistera will integrate Security Blanket®, TCS’ award-winning, automated, operating system lock down tool with their security compliance solutions for the federal government and sensitive commercial customers.
Security Blanket consistently and predictably hardens Linux® and Solaris™ operating systems in a fraction of the time that it takes to lock them down manually. The solution enables system administrators to configure and enhance security at the operating system level to meet the stringent guidelines required by the federal government.
“Cistera Networks is an ideal partner to integrate Security Blanket. They see the ease of use and time savings gained by automating the assessment of operating system security against industry standards and then configuring the security settings to meet compliancy requirements,” stated Ed Hammersla, Chief Operating Officer, Trusted Computer Solutions. “Cistera Networks and Trusted Computer Solutions have additional synergy in that both organizations have extensive reach into the government sector and share many of the same customers including the US Air Force, Department of Defense (DoD), and the US Army.”
“We were looking for a solution that integrated seamlessly into our award winning Cistera Convergence Server that allowed us to easily meet security compliance requirements,” stated Greg Royal, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Cistera Networks. “Security Blanket automates the process of securing the operating system to meet standards which provides significant time savings on each deployment. The Cistera convergence Server is a Quality and Management solution that provides Event Notification Alerting, and Quality and Compliancy recording. A number of our government customers require compliance to the Defense Information Security Agency (DISA) Secure Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGs). Security Blanket has the STIGs pre-defined within the product, which results in a STIG lockdown being reduced from 30 days to 2 in a typical deployment. Integrating Security Blanket will increase our productivity and ensure the highest level of system security for our clients. We are very pleased to be integrating this technology and look forward to a rewarding relationship with TCS.”
