Trusted Computer Solutions Simplifies Product Names
Company establishes consistent product names across Linux and Solaris platforms
Herndon, VA, May 15, 2007 - Trusted Computer Solutions (TCS), a leading supplier of Cross- Domain Solutions for industry and government, today announced that it has simplified product names to provide consistent branding across its Linux and Solaris-based SecureOffice product suite.
The TCS Access products, formerly known as SecureOffice NetTop2 - Thin Client and SecureOffice NetTop2 Workstation have been renamed SecureOffice Trusted Thin Client and SecureOffice Trusted Workstation. These products are used by DoD, the Intelligence Community, and civilian agencies to access information on multiple classified networks from a single laptop or workstation. The renaming does not reflect any technical or programmatic changes to the products. NetTop technology, developed by the National Security Agency, continues to provide the baseline technology for the SecureOffice Linux based products.
The TCS Transfer products, commonly referred to as “guards,” retain their names, SecureOffice Trusted Gateway System (TGS) and SecureOffice WebShield (MDDS). However, the TGS product has been enhanced with new bi-directional and other capabilities.
“Because the SecureOffice product line runs on both Linux and Solaris platforms it made sense to make the names consistent, and with the technology enhancements made to TGS we can now offer the same Guard technology in half the number of products,” stated Ed Hammersla, chief operating officer for Trusted Computer Solutions. “TCS previously had four separate guard products: one for high to low, one for low to high, and one that was bi-directional, and still another for browse-down. Now we have just two transfer products, one multi-directional (TGS), and one browse-down (WebShield / MDDS).”
