Trusted Computer Solutions’ Security Blanket Added to the Department of the U.S. Navy’s Application and Database Management (DADMS) List

The Industry’s Only Automated Operating System Lock Down Tool Ensures Compliancy with Government and Military Regulations and Guidelines

HERNDON, Va. – October 26, 2009Trusted Computer Solutions, Inc. (TCS), a leading developer of cross domain and cyber security solutions, today announced that Security Blanket, the company’s award-winning automated lock down solution, has been added to the Department of Navy's Application and Database Management System (DADMS) list. The DADMS is the authoritative list of software applications for use within the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps. Each application on the DADMS list has been examined and put into compliance with the Navy’s application reduction initiative.

Security Blanket is a menu driven solution with an easy-to-use interface that allows administrators to run predefined profiles that automate industry-standard best practices for hardening Linux and Solaris. The product is also available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 operating systems running on IBM System z hardware. Alternatively, users can customize profiles that support their own security policies. Once a profile is selected, the product quickly assesses the system and provides indicators – Pass, Fail or Not Applicable – that show the status of its compliance to an organization’s security guidelines. Following the assessment, the user can instantly configure the operating system (OS) to be in full compliance by clicking Apply.

Medium-to-large sized organizations typically deploy Security Blanket Enterprise Edition, which gives users centralized management of all enterprise-wide servers from a single console. A standalone version of Security Blanket is typically purchased by organizations with a smaller number of Linux and Solaris servers. “Being named to the DADMS list is an important step in our ongoing efforts to provide organizations within the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps a solution that assesses their level of security against industry standard security guidelines and then automatically configures their operating systems to a state of lock down,” said Ed Hammersla, Chief Operating Officer, Trusted Computer Solutions. “Security Blanket is easy to use and can provide significant time and cost savings while increasing the productivity of an organization’s system administration resources.”
