Trusted Computer Solutions Announces New Trusted Gateway

Cross Domain Transfer Mechanism now utilizes Advanced Type Enforcement and Increases File Size capacity by 400%

HERNDON, Va. – August 27, 2007 – Trusted Computer Solutions, Inc. (TCS), a leading supplier of cross domain solutions, today announced the general availability of SecureOffice® Trusted Gateway™ 4.1 on Red Hat® Enterprise Linux® 5 (RHEL5). This release embodies the most secure method to date for any multi-directional transfer of information between networks at different classification levels.

SecureOffice Trusted Gateway 4.1 represents a significant upgrade to the Trusted Gateway System (TGS), which has been fielded and operational for almost a decade, and is included in the Unified Cross Domain Management Office (UCDMO) CD Baseline list of approved mechanisms. Trusted Gateway 4.1, now running on Linux, offers greater security than the previous version and is already named on the UCDMO R&D list, which represents products that are ready to be accessed, evaluated, and approved for the Cross Domain Baseline.

All TCS software products require a trusted operating system as a primary mechanism for security policy enforcement. Trusted operating systems extend the capabilities found in standard operating systems by providing additional safeguards against internal and external threats. The employment of Discretionary Access Controls (DAC), Mandatory Access Controls (MAC), Multi-Level Security (MLS), and Type Enforcement (TE) offer powerful and customizable levels of protection for users and data.

Trusted Gateway 4.1 continues to provide rapid bulk one-way secure transfer while also supporting rapid and flexible multi-directional transfer capabilities. The product not only employs new and more secure technologies, but it has also broken file size barriers previously experienced with other guard solutions. Trusted Gateway 4.1 is able to exceed 10 GB file transfer where the industry standard had been 2GB. A new web-based user interface in Trusted Gateway 4.1 supports drag-and-drop, automated workflow, and two-person reliable human review. In addition, Trusted Gateway 4.1 provides a mechanism to support existing third-party content validation software; such as Purifile®, for hidden data detection in Microsoft® Office files. There is no software installed on the desktop; all that is required is a common web browser.
