Trusted Computer Solutions Unveils Linux with Trusted Technology
for its DTNG Warfighter Simulations

Company to Demonstrate First Available Multilevel Simulation Application
Running "Trusted" Linux at I/ITSEC 2005 Conference (Booth 406)

HERNDON, Va., November 28, 2005 — Trusted Computer Solutions, Inc. (TCS), a leading supplier of secure information sharing technologies to the Department of Defense, the intelligence community and commercial industry, today announced it will offer its SecureOffice® DTNG™ (Distributed Training Network Guard) on the only Linux operating system in the world with a Common Criteria EAL4 Labeled Security Protection Profile (LSPP).

DTNG on trusted Linux pulls open source technology into an application that facilitates more realistic simulations of real-world war fighter operations in a highly classified, secure environment.

Typically, war fighter simulators operate in controlled domains and cannot communicate with other simulators without risking accidental disclosure of sensitive data. As a result, war fighters are isolated from other members of the simulation community, precluding simulation exercises that mimic real world operations and limiting the effectiveness of training exercises. DTNG on trusted Linux interconnects two or more simulations that operate at different classification levels, securely sharing information with the rest of the simulation participants throughout the community.

"We’re pleased to now offer our customers the option of running war fighter simulations through our DTNG on the most secure version of Linux available — meeting the requirements of classified and sensitive environments and protecting the most sensitive classified information at the operating system level," said Ed Hammersla, chief operating officer at TCS. "DTNG solves the challenge of secure connectivity between highly classified simulators and the rest of the simulation community, without risking accidental disclosure of sensitive data."

Visit TCS along with our partner IBM at booth #406 at The Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) in Orlando, Fla. November 28-December 1, 2005 where TCS will demonstrate its DTNG product on Linux.

IBM is sponsoring the Common Criteria evaluation of trusted Linux, which will be merged into Red Hat Enterprise Linux v.5 on multiple IBM platforms to maximize choice and value for customers. Red Hat Enterprise Linux v.5 will be evaluated on all IBM e-Server brands, including: xSeries, pSeries, zSeries and BladeCenter.

About trusted Linux Operating System
The trusted Linux that underlies DTNG is based on the National Security Agency’s Security Enhanced Linux (SELinux) and incorporates the security functionality defined in three protection profiles recognized by Common Criteria: Labeled Security Protection Profile (LSPP), Controlled Access Protection Profile (CAPP) and Role-Based Access Control Protection Profile (RBAC). These three protection profiles specify security functionality and assurance that is required to conform to the technical requirements of Director of Central Intelligence Directive 6/3 (DCID 6/3), which defines measures used to secure intelligence-related information and systems, including those necessary for Top Secret and Below Interoperability (TSABI).

Through a joint effort with IBM and Red Hat, the functionality of this trusted Linux is being bundled into Red Hat Enterprise Linux v.5, which officially entered the Common Criteria evaluation process in September 2005. Although not available from Red Hat until late 2006 as part of Red Hat’s normal product update and release cycle, the software is available now as a component of many TCS commercial products such as DTNG. This availability and the Government’s ability to procure immediately is in full compliance with NSTISSP No. 11 National Policy.
