Trusted Computer Solutions Expands Contract with
Air Force Weather Agency

Secure Office® Trusted Gateway™ to Improve Combat Operations
By Enabling Rapid and Secure Data Exchange

HERNDON, Va., Dec. 13, 2004 — Trusted Computer Solutions, Inc. (TCS), a leading supplier of information sharing technologies to the Department of Defense, the intelligence community and commercial industry, has announced plans to expand installation of its SecureOffice® Trusted Gateway™ at the Headquarters Air Force Weather Agency, Offutt AFB, Neb.

TCS Trusted Gateway, a commercial-off-the-shelf product, will replace the Air Force Research Laboratory’s Information Support Server Environment (ISSE) Guard, a government-off-the-shelf solution developed for multi-level secure information exchange. Initial performance benchmark testing by Air Force Weather indicates that Trusted Gateway outperformed the ISSE Guard by a ratio of 4.5 to 1 in file transfer speeds.

Trusted Gateway is a secure low-to-high guard that allows for the transfer of data from a low security domain to a higher security domain. The Air Force Weather Agency has been utilizing Trusted Gateway since 1999 for the one-way movement of large volumes of time perishable environmental data. The new Trusted Gateway installation will enable timely, secure movement of hundreds of gigabytes of relevant aerospace weather data to higher classification domains in support of the Department of Defense and other users.

"Trusted Gateway vastly improves the Air Force Weather Agency’s ability to rapidly and securely share the weather and environmental battle space predictions," said Ed Hammersla, chief operating officer at TCS. "This deal is not only significant because it will enable commanders at all levels to prepare for and make crucial combat decisions, but is a noteworthy win for the use of commercial products in government applications as well."

Trusted Gateway is fully accredited and has an interim approval to operate (IATO).
